Raven's soul self tried but failed to overwhelm Brother Blood yet there was a bare hint that Blood was expecting this but hadn't tried to prevent it happening. However it slowed things up enough for Terra to revive and use her earth moving powers to save everyone. No one was going to be responsible for killing the Titans but her! We'll get to that later. Meanwhile having got out of that mess the Titans now found themselves facing Brother Blood's menagerie Unfortunately while they beat Blood's monsters they fell victim to a combination of a booby trap and his powers. Yet rather than return them to his blood pool to consume their energies he decided an execution was in order.
In the best superheroic tradition Starfire's earnest plea awoke Dick from the brainwashing and he broke the control panel freeing the others. The ensuing battle was cut short when the Zandian military opened fire on the Church, the government having had enough of Brother Blood trying to run the country behind the dicataor's back. Blood perished in time honoured super villain fashion when his laser cannon crashed on top of him sending him plunging down a deep shaft. In another villainous tradition his body wasn't recovered and with his martyr's death at the hands of an unprovoked military assault his church grew in popularity and the restrictions on it around the world eased. Which was exactly what he had always wanted, too bad he wasn't around to enjoy it. Was he? It's probably not spilling too many beans to reveal that Blood not only survived but had orchestrated everything. Dick Grayson hadn't escaped from the brainwashing, he had been programed to resist at the right moment and would fall under Blood's control again if the right signal was given. Blood wanted the Titans to survive as witnesses to his "demise" to give his equally staged resurrection more authenticity. But that's another story and this page is supposed to focus on the perils of Donna Troy. The next batch of which was soon to follow as Terra put her position as the Terminator's mole within the Titans to good use. As Dick Grayson discovered in Tales of the Teen Titans #43 after the Terminator almost got him and he tried to find why the rest of the Titans weren't responding.
