See Zandia and Die!
     In New Teen Titans #40 (March 1984) the team went looking for Dick
Grayson (he had given up being Robin in the previous issue) after he went
missing during an attempt to infiltrate the central Church of their old enemy
Brother Blood on the island nation of Zandia (described as "Somewhere in the
Baltic Sea").  It had been a risky move but the Titans were sick of Blood
continually playing them for saps while making himself appear a persecuted
religious leader in the eyes of the media.  So they were willing to take a few
chances to bring him down.
     It's safe to say that things did not go as planned.









     With the following issue the comic's title changed to Tales of the Teen
Titans but the peril continued from where things had left off.  Indeed things
got even worse and it looked as if Blood was going to have them die at the
hands of a friend.
