Hive A Nice Day
The HIVE was a coalition of criminal scientist who had banded together to wear long purple robes and conquer the world. Considering how dark those hoods were it's no wonder their bases were always spaceous, well lighted places. Otherwise they'd have been too busy stumbling around to cause any trouble. Anyway through convuluted means they had contracted Deathstroke the Terminator (about whose name Etrigan the Demon commented to Hitman, "When I hear that Deathstroke's on the scene, I think of suspect magazines.") to destroy the Teen Titans. Which he did through planting his own agent, Terra among the Titans which had netted him every Titan except Dick Grayson (who had just given up his Robin identity in favour of the new name and coatume of "Nightwing") by the time the concluding chapter of "The Judas Contract" got rolling. Which meant everyone else was strapped in the requiste paranormal containing/power syphoning gizmo.
Here's the same picture showing a bit more detail and Koriand'r's actual angle.
While Nightwing and his new ally Jericho snuck into the base the other Titans hung around waiting to be rescued.
When the dust cleared Terra was dead, Changeling was traumatised and Jericho had joined the Titans. HIVE was weakened but not out of the running just yet. At least not until Aqualad and Aquagirl discovered their last remaining headquarters underwater and lead the Titans in to wreak the place. During the raid Starfire ran into one of their defense systems.
In case you're wondering Jericho merged with her and flew her body through the base blasting everything that moved. Thus making him the second Titan to have her body but Nightwing didn't get jealous. At least not so far as I know. Anyway as that's the latest Koriand'r material I have but as I'm not ready to wrap this section up just yet it's time to to turn the clock back to the Not-So Secret Origin of Starfire.
